Well, that’s different! Charlie Puth is now a blond.
The 26-year-old singer debuted his new platinum locks at the 2018 Radio Disney Music Awards in Los Angeles on Friday, June 22. Puth sported an equally showstopping ensemble for the event, pairing a pink and black polka-dotted shirt with blue pants and silver sneakers. He was not only nominated for Breakout Artist of the Year at the award show, but he also performed.
The artist first hinted at his new ‘do when he shared an Instagram Story video of himself working out on Thursday, June 21. Puth — whose hair is usually dark brown — later put his newly dyed strands on full display in an Instagram post to his 10.3 million followers. “I really like the show Billions,” he captioned a shirtless selfie on Friday.
Fan reactions were mixed, with some loving the look and others begging the musician to return to his roots. “What did you do,” one Instagram user commented along with a series of crying-face emoji. “Shave dude,” another wrote. “Malfoy is that you?” responded one, referencing the Harry Potter character.
“Gorgeous,” others commented in support. The comments section is also filled with its fair share of heart-eye, heart and fire emojis.

The “See You Again” singer has experimented with blond before. As recently as June 10, Puth had subtle streaks in his brown hair. “I’m back in New York feeling hella jet lagged and crazy,” he captioned an Instagram pic at the time.
The move to completely platinum locks seems recent though, since Puth shared a video of himself with wild, yet entirely brunet, hair on Tuesday, June 19.
