Joan Evans came into the public eye at a tender age, having signed her first film contract with producer Samuel Goldwyn when she was just 14 years old with the company. Throughout the course of her career, she worked with a number of well-known individuals, including Farley Granger, Audie Murphy, Irene Dunne, and Esther Williams. When she was unintentionally shot in the arm by Farley Granger during the reshoots, she was confronted with a situation that would forever change her life. Evans made the decision to transition away from acting in the early 1960s so that he could concentrate on establishing a family. Despite this, she continued to pursue a career in the entertainment industry, eventually becoming an editor for Hollywood Studio Magazine and a teacher at the Carden Academy in Van Nuys.
